summer jobs

this summer, i decided not to go the route that most of my friends took. while they're all doing their meaningful internships and working in offices that in some way relate to their majors, i decided that i was not quite done with my high school job. and that's how i ended up being a cashier at best buy for the THIRD summer in a row.

i'll admit it, the reason i keep going back to this job is because they make it so easy and i love not having to learn anything new. i know what i'm doing and feel comfortable there, and the thought of spending my summer, the three months a year students from kindergarten to college switch their brains to "off", learning new things and having to (gasp!) think about what i'm doing is just sooooooo unappealing.

i figure this is the last time in my life where i can get away with having a meaningless, easy, boring job, so i might as well enjoy it while i can.

are YOU ready?!?!?!

who is pumped for the sex and the city movie? it's just over 48 hours til i get carrie'd away...

do people think the movie is going to do well? i feel like it could go two ways:
1. have a crazy good opening weekend where all the diehards come out to see it those first few days, but doesn't do well following weekends because everyone else is kinda over s&tc and is sick of their seemingly nonstop press junket that has been going on for weeks
OR
2. it will do really well!! women (& gay men!) love sex and the city, and since the show went off air, nothing has really come close to taking its place, and a s&tc movie will satisfy that craving.

it really is truly remarkable that s&tc has been gone for so long but no other show has been able to replicate it - recent attempts this fall like "cashmere mafia" and "lipstick jungle" fell way short. there's just something about the relatable-ness of carrie, miranda, charlotte, and samantha that i think is impossible to duplicate.

i don't think our girls will let us down with this flick.
